The Flying Axe

Keep Calm and Axe On

Hmmm, I have a question

How do I pay?

We can accept payments in your choice of cash or credit card.  We will accept the following credit cards: Visa, Master Card, and Discover.  We will accept check but only from a company.  No personal checks will be accepted.

Are you performers? Do you provide a show to watch?

No, we do however provide to you and your guests all equipment to safely throw tomahawks, as well as instruction on how to throw an ax, and how to do it as safely as possible.

Where are you located?

We are based out of the city of Rensselaer, however, at this time, we are a mobile business and as such we do not have a physical place you can visit.  We will try to keep you informed through our Facebook page if you can find us at any local shows or community events.

What should I wear?

Because throwing axes is an active sport you should wear clothing that is comfortable and allows you full range of motion.  In addition, closed toe shoes are a requirement, absolutely NO open toed shoes like flip flops or sandals.

Can I use my own axe?

NO, for liability purposes, we must require that you use the axes and equipment provided by The Flying Axe llc and it's staff.

Can I provide my own food and drinks?

Absolutely, in fact we encourage you to.  However we must insist that any alcohol you may provide not be consumed by any of the participants until AFTER they have finished throwing axes.

What can I expect?  Do you just drop the equipment off and leave?

No, we do not just drop off the equipment and leave.  You will have a staff member on site the entire time to ensure that everyone remains safe and in one piece and to answer any questions you may have.  Our staff will setup the target(s) and throwing lane(s), conduct a safety and throwing technique instructional briefing.  At the completion of your booked time, our staff member will remove all the equipment minus any small splinters of wood that may have been chipped away (these are yours to keep as a type of souvenir).

Who can participate?

Anyone ages 12 and up may participate in the axe throwing event (as long as they can safely throw the axe).  Please bear in mind, that anyone UNDER the age of 18 will be required to have a parent or guardian with them while they are at the throwing line and actively throwing axes.

Can I print out  a picture of someone to use as a target?

Yes and No.  You may use any commercially available target that can be purchased from a store or off the internet.

However, at this time, no photos of people will be allowed if not commercially available for liability reasons.

The only exception to this rule will be at charity or corporate events if the person is aware of it, is present at the time of the event, and gives their consent in writing.
